Playsnakefree is a small, independent site about playing snake — and a few other simple browser games — on machines where the usual game sites are blocked.

What this site is

It writes up the methods that still work when a school, work or library filter is in the way: userscripts, hosted mod builds, and browser portals that never needed a mod in the first place. The write-ups come from actually using these tools rather than copying another round-up, which is why you'll find the failures in here as well as the successes. The site hosts no downloads, and there is nothing to install from it.

Who it is for

Mostly people on locked-down machines — students on school Chromebooks being the main case — who want a straight answer instead of a walkthrough that ends at a file that no longer does anything. Anyone who just wants to know why the old bookmark trick stopped working is covered too.

Who runs it

This is an independent, one-person site. It is not affiliated with Google, Cloudflare, or any of the games, mods or portals it mentions. There is no company behind it and no editorial team.

What this site does not promise

Nothing here is a guarantee. Filters change, links rot, and a method that works on one network can fail on the next. If something stops working, that is the normal state of the open web rather than a broken promise. Treat every method here as something worth trying, not something you are owed.
